Fleeting Figures was a public augmented reality exhibition created for the BFI London Film Festival 2023. The exhibition transformed London's Southbank into a canvas for virtual art through an immersive virtual layer featuring the work of 6 artists.
The virtual layer connected two London Film Festival venues: BFI Southbank and the OXO Tower. Visitors scanned a QR code to open the Meadow app and enter the exhibition. Floating particles streamed between the buildings, guiding them along the Southbank. Along the way, they encountered 6 artworks: from Lundahl & Seitl's intimate brush with a virtual superorganism and Oscar Häggström's satire of contemporary fitness culture
to Åsa Cederqvist's Giga-annum, which traced our relationship with water through the tidal rhythms of the nearby Thames, and SONG's creation story featuring mythological creatures from the collectives respective cultures.
